I've been thinking about this so much the last couple years as the trend has exploded...and I hate it....I have gone from seeing the people who hurt me as villains as you have said...being empathic and overly forgiving because of understanding, and most recently thinking I am really rhe biggest problem of all...and now jaut not wanting to associate with people at all to avoid the whole confusion. It is fucking with people's heads and relationships more then helping I feel. Too many families, friendships, partnerships, etc are breaking apart over the whole concept. I feel we are all becoming avoidant narcissist in the process of trying to battle the narcissistic awakening!! It's all just crazy to me.

These lines are amazing, “The mind seeks purity when complexity becomes unbearable. But healing asks for something harder than certainty. It asks for humility.”

I once worked in a psych center for a summer. Just as admin. I knew there was a test they gave all patients to identify problems. I asked a psychiatrist if I could take it for fun. He looked at me very seriously and said, “no. You function well in society. You don’t need a diagnosis. This test gives everyone a diagnosis. It’s only intended for those who can’t function.”

It really surprised me. Yes, we all can be “diagnosed” but a diagnosis isn’t appropriate for everyone.

You can have narcissistic traits. Most of us do. But few cases are extreme enough for the label. For all those people diagnosing every relationship, they’re just being bullies. Just say you hate the fucker. You’re imperfect and so are they. You don’t have to use clinical terminology to prove you’re superior.
