Great list and conversation! Wondering if you have heard of Lawrence Heller’s work? He created the Neuroaffective Relational Model (NARM), which helps people heal from the adaptations they set up in childhood to survive family and other systems that didn’t meet their needs. That may sound like any type of therapy, but one of the ways it is approached helps individuals begin to see how they self-shame, and get locked in familiar patterns versus heal. His latest book just released this year and it’s called Healing Shame and Guilt. I haven’t read it yet, but it feels like it might live well alongside the work you’re curating.

Thank you!

I’m currently reading The Storytelling Animal by Jonathan Gottschall. I love psychology. After reading Using Behavioral Science in Marketing by Nancy Harhut, I became fascinated with the power of stories. After seeing a therapist, I learned how the stories we believe shape everything in our lives. We are truly ruled by narrative.

I’m very curious about several books on your list.
